Liverpool expanded their ideal start to the season with success but Manchester City kept the pressure up using a spoonful of Watford.
Pep Guardiola’s side beat the Hornets 8-0 that are struggling but stay five points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool, who won.
Elsewhere, Manchester United lost 2-0 to West Ham while Leicester defeat Tottenham 2-1 along with Sheffield United picked up an amazing 2-0 away win at Everton.
Here is my team of the week – have a read and select your very own below.
Adrian: The stand at goalkeeper seems to improve every time I watch him. The rescue Tammy Abraham from the game exchanges was as good if not as crucial as it receives. The keeper came to get a cross and then plucked the ball out of the air together with supreme confidence.
This was the first-half functionality that provided the platform to Liverpool to continue and win this match of Adrian. Chelsea, on the other hand, had opportunities to develop a point but also many gamers fluffed their lines.
It is a bad indication for the remainder of the league, when not playing well when Liverpool start winning games.
Did you know? Adrian hasn’t conceded more than in any of his last nine Premier League looks, finishing on the winning side at eight of these games (one draw).
Ricardo Pereira: When full-backs have an appetite for moving into the heart of the opposition’s penalty area, not only do they catch my attention but I start to take them seriously. Ricardo Pereira is one particular player.
He’s quick and adventurous and not afraid to put himself up for evaluation at the box of the opposing team. He also took his goal in a time that was vital and well .
As Tottenham; matters that really shouldn’t affect them too easily offend them for. They’ve experienced more than their fair share of great fortune in which VAR is worried and as soon as the technology goes against them they ought to be in a position to fix as fast as when it is in their favor.
Did you know? The Ricardo Pereira of leicester scored his third goal in 41 Premier League appearances – three have come at the King Power Stadium.
Nathan Ake: The shot of Nathan Ake suspended in Attacks with attacked a group number and buried a bullet header past Angus Gunn in the aim of Southampton was a film to behold.
It was not only Bournemouth target in a historical win against their south coast rivals but a clear sign that the Cherries intended business.
I really don’t understand what Ake would charge for Chelsea to buy back him but if I was them I would seriously consider it.
Did you know? Eight of the 11 Premier League goals of Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake have been scored from corners, including seven of his last eight at the contest.
Fabian Schar: The processor by Aaron Connolly was a goal that is particular and it needed something special from a defender. That moment of magic came.
The clearance off the line by Schar could, come the season’s end, be Newcastle along with Steve Bruce’s lifeline.
Did you know? Since the start of last year, Newcastle have won 43% of their Premier League games when Fabian Schar has begun (12/28), compared to just 6% when he has not (1/16).
Chris Basham: I could have chosen anyone in the Sheffield United back three but I’ve gone for Chris Basham.
Even the 31-year-old isn’t a spring chicken but if it comes to defenders winning headers, placing his body on the line and staying cool under stress, then he is the man.
This has been. When you put players on massive salaries you are entitled to large performances and a lot of players in blue are not justifying their earnings.
Did you know? No Sheffield United player has made more cubes than Chris Basham (four) from the Premier League this year.
James Maddison: Alas we have found another player whose initial idea is can I play with ahead and not sideways or backward. James Maddison is quickly making a name for himself as a player that thinks of this forward first rather than himself.
If Maddison can locate Jamie Vardy onto a football pitch that he will and without a moment’s hesitation. I’m sick and tired of stats that tell me this a midfielder gets the maximum passes when they’ve spent the huge portion of the game moving from side to side and backward.
Maddison’s moves can cut via a defence such as a knife through butter and that’s the reason I’m convinced this lad can go all of the way. Read about what I Need to say about Maddison in the Crooks of this Matter below.
Did you know? Since netting versus Huddersfield in April, leicester’s James Maddison ended a run of 31 shots in the Premier League without a target.
Kevin Bruyne: Kevin de Bruyne had delivered Watford their blow and There wasn’t any more than 60 seconds on the clock.
The ball in the genius for David Silva to side-foot home murdered the Hornets stone dead. What followed was complete and total humiliation.
The pass that imposed this deadly wound was really deliberate and exact that there was not one Watford guardian prepared to get it for fear of placing the ball into his own net.
In fact Craig Dawson was so paralysed by the speed and precision of the pass into the six yard area that he uttered as though he had been struck by the ice maiden! Now Watford knew the match was finished and it was down to the new’baby-faced assassin’.
Did you know? Considering his Man City debut in September 2015, Kevin de Bruyne has provided more Premier League aids than any other player (52).
Bernardo Silva: Ordinarily you can not score a hat-trick and not buy in my TOTW however I need to declare that the primary reason behind choosing Bernardo Silva is because it offers me a couple more paragraphs to talk about De Bruyne.
By this time Manchester City have been 6-0 up and uncontrolled while De Bruyne continued to inflict the most brutal passes on the traffic. Silva completed his hat-trick courtesy of yet another deadly missile from De Bruyne who was not just intent on reaping absolute and total destruction on Watford but decided to lace his own own defeat using utter humiliation.
Did you know? Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva scored his first top-flight hat-trick in what’s his 178th look across the English, French and Portuguese leading tiers.
Mark Noble: When West Ham beat Manchester United something rather strange tends to be moving on.
The Hammers ceased United from winning the title on the last day of this year in 1995; while Carlos Tevez maintained West Ham in the Premier League off at Old Trafford at 2007. What took place was just spooky.
Mark Noble spearheaded a famous victory from a Manchester United side who appeared in disarray and direct by a supervisor who is starting to look from his depth.
Whatever sentiment you will have for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United isn’t a club for most novices.
Did you know? West Ham have won 47 percent of the Premier League matches when Mark Noble has started under Manuel Pellegrini (15/32), compared to just 18 percent when he hasn’t (2/11).
Roberto Firmino: I think VAR is going to be the death of us in the end. Nevertheless, Liverpool utilized the technology for their own advantage and Roberto Firmino.
There’s not any doubt in my head another gains a enormous benefit along with when VAR comes to activity one group endures.
While Chelsea were suffering from VAR’s discovery which Mason Mount’s big toe was offside that the Brazil worldwide took complete advantage of the problem and put the match beyond the Blues.
This wasn’t a classic Liverpool operation but even VAR can’t prevent a group from winning awful.
Did you know? Roberto Firmino was directly involved in 10 goals in his last 11 Premier League games for Liverpool, scoring five and helping five.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: Arsenal find themselves in the best four and it is down to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Since his arrival at the Emirates he left them more palatable and has rescued Arsenal’s often performances. Their match against a plucky Aston Villa who seem to be adapting to life at the Premier League, even though it might be a little slow to live in the Premier League, was poor and they rely about the international that is Gabon.
I’ve noticed this before when managers utilize strikers because a get out of jail card along with the minute the striker’s objectives dry up they’re the very first from the door. Arsenal owe Aubameyang and he can, and if he’s struggling, give him a little latitude.
Did you know? Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored 16 goals in his last 16 games across all contests for Arsenal, including in each of the previous four matches in a row (five goals).
You’ve seen my choices this year. However, that would you go for?
Select your XI.
When is a rucksack not only a rucksack? If it prices #6,500!
When he was seen sporting his brand new Louis Vuitton rucksack, james Maddison caused a bit of a stir in the BBC Green Room. The thing that was see-through looked really interesting not least as we can see everything.
I had arrived at the BBC studios for Score to hear a galaxy of star pundits musing on the necessity of a buy. I, on the other hand, had only arrived and hearing a store bag was picked up by that the fuss and requested the pundits what was wrong with the Leicester and England international utilizing the carrier bag I was holding in my hands?
I admit that it didn’t look sophisticated but it was hardy, retained a discretion that is certain and was cheap. I requested my fellow pundits would Maddison have created the identical kind of curiosity had he arrived for work on his hand along with my carrier bag – much to the amusement of everyone.
On reflection I think Maddison carrying out a plastic carrier bag with his designer fragrance, hair dryer and unique electric toothbrush would have caused even more controversy.
There’s not anything fresh in professional footballers making style statements; they’re entitled to spend it anyway they choose and nightclubs pay them the cash. However is a price to be paid, as much as the public is concerned and it might prove be costly.
Players that make such statements have to ask themselves is it a price worth paying?
